About Dr. Varun Chandola
Biography
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota.
My research spans the broad area of AI for Science with a focus on developing scalable AI solutions that integrate algorithmic and infrastructure research for scientific discovery.
From 2021 to 2025, I served as a Program Director in the Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure (OAC) at the National Science Foundation (NSF).
